This non-profit organization serves children and adults with developmental disorders, such as Down syndrome and autism. The organization’s first annual golf outing is coming up, and it will provide a great way for families with disabled loved ones to build community and enjoy a time of recreation together.
2017 ACDS Westchester Golf Classic
The golf outing, known as the ACDS Westchester Golf Classic, will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at the Leewood Golf Club in Eastchester, New York. Sponsored by the Piedmont Family and Crest Electric, this event will benefit many children and adults struggling with disabilities. The event will include brunch and a BBQ dinner, and the golf activities will continue throughout the day for families and guests to enjoy.
About the ACDS Organization
Originally founded in 1966 by a group of parents, the ACDS has provided quality services to children with Down syndrome and other developmental disorders for decades. Today, it is based out of Plainview, New York. Since its founding, the organization has grown tremendously. It now provides services to more than 1,000 children, teens, and adults struggling with many types of disabilities.
The organization provides a variety of programs to help people who have mental health and developmental disorders. These include recreational, educational, social, and therapeutic programs. Each program is tailored to the specific needs of the individual child or adult, and is administered by caring and well-trained workers.
At ACDS, the administration and staff are committed to providing quality care and treatment to individuals and families through in-home services, community-based programs, and Individualized Residential Alternative group homes (IRAs). They also provide services at their main educational center in Plainview.
