Jamie Kornhaber is an attorney admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey, with a focus on family law and matrimonial matters. Jamie brings a combination of legal knowledge, practical experience, and a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to helping clients navigate complex and often challenging legal issues. With a background that spans family law, litigation, and real estate, Jamie understands the importance of listening to clients, recognizing their individual needs, and approaching each matter with care and dedication.

Jamie earned a Juris Doctor from New York Law School, where Jamie served as a Junior Editor of the Family Law Quarterly. During law school, Jamie specifically focused on family law and litigation, completing coursework in family law, domestic violence, evidence, and trial advocacy. Jamie also completed specialized cross-examination and deposition training through the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA).

Jamie’s experience includes serving as a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Michael L. Katz in the Matrimonial Division of the New York City Civil Court, where Jamie conducted legal research and prepared memoranda on matrimonial issues. Jamie also served as a Summer Associate at Salzano Ettinger Lampert & Wilson, LLP, researching and drafting memoranda involving complex financial and custody matters and contributing to the 2024 edition of the LexisNexis practice guide New York Matrimonial Actions.

Before becoming an attorney, Jamie spent several years working alongside attorneys at established law firms, gaining valuable hands-on experience in family law, matrimonial proceedings, complex litigation, and real estate transactions. Jamie’s experience includes preparing financial disclosures, analyzing assets and debts, assisting with parenting plans, and preparing court filings. This background provides Jamie with a practical understanding of the legal process and the many considerations that can arise during family law proceedings.

Jamie earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from West Virginia University. Jamie’s journalism background, combined with years of legal experience, has helped develop strong research, writing, and communication skills that Jamie brings to every client matter.
